History

Continental Labor Resources, Inc. had modest beginnings but great aspirations in 1993 when Shannon Grove (Smith) and Karen Cain began their professional partnership.  Drawing from her experience in the staffing and employment industry, Shannon knew that she could offer employers higher skilled, safety conscious employees while providing customer service unparalleled to the competition. With the help of her brother and sister-in-law Tony and Karen Cain, Shannon was able to begin Continental Labor Resources, Inc., known today as Continental Labor and Staffing Resources.  Within the first two years in business, Continental Labor grew to become the largest independently owned staffing agency in Bakersfield.  Today, Continental is one of the largest independently female-owned staffing agencies in California, employing over 4,000 workers and maintaining offices statewide.  As Continental has grown over the years, the business philosophy has remained the same:
